Former NYS Director acquitted over corruption charges

Former acting director general of operations in the NYS Clare Lwali Chaddah was yesterday acquitted over the charges of abuse of office and corruption.

Chief magistrate Kennedy Bidali who read the judgement on behalf of Magistrate Felix Kombo said he was satisfied that at all times the accused acted in good faith.

“I am therefore satisfied the accused person has exculpated herself in respect of the charge and I shall acquit her under Section215 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” Bidali said.

The judge added that having analysed the evidence before the court, “I am satisfied the allegations made against her has not been established”.
