A police officer attached to the Port of Mombasa has killed himself.
The officer, Charles Ndolo, shot himself in a toilet on Saturday morning.
Police boss Patrick Robalia told reporters Ndolo reported to work at Kipevu terminal at 5am. He went into a toilet, locked it and shot himself on the head.
He said the deceased, who was a constable, had served at the Port for three years.
“He appeared normal. We are still investigating the motive of the suicide because he didn’t show any sign of stress,” Robalia said.
Ndolo was living at the police quarters at the port before his death.
The body was taken to Jocham Hospital Mortuary.
