ANC backs Uhuru on development, maintains it's in the opposition

A group of ANC legislators have termed the rising political divisions as a tactic to divert attention from the war on corruption.

They are deputy party leader and Lugari MP Ayub Savula, Tindi Mwale (Butere), former Kimilili legislator Justus Murunga and Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga Woman Representative).

The lawmakers on Friday accused Deputy President William Ruto of sponsoring attacks on various leaders and political parties.

Speaking at the ANC headquarters, Savula welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pledge to initiate development projects throughout the country.

“We are not going to bed with Jubilee, but when we see something positive, we give our support to the government thus we support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development plan,” he said.

“Being in the opposition does not mean that we will not be loyal to the President. The notion that development should go where the President hails from does not stand the test of time.”

The legislators urged Uhuru to remain firm and ignore the politicians dragging him down in 2022 politics.

The leaders said they will work directly with Uhuru to accomplish his Big Four agenda.

The group thanked Uhuru for announcing the new maize price of Sh2,500, up from the Sh2,300 per bag last year.
